Victor Court joined the IFP School Energy Economics and Management Center as an Assistant Professor in March 2020. He participates in the teaching and organization of three programs at the Center: the specialized engineering programs “ Energy and markets” and “Energy technology economics and management”, as well as the master’s degree in “Environmental, energy and transport economics”.
An engineer in environmental sciences (AgroParisTech) and holder of a master’s degree in energy economics (IFP School), at the end of 2016, Victor defended a doctoral thesis (Paris Nanterre University) on the link between EROI, for “Energy-Return-On-Investment”, energy systems and long-term economic growth.
Following his doctorate, Victor carried out research within the Energy and Prosperity Chair, as well as the Training Center on Environment and Society at ENS Ulm and, in England, in the Science Policy Research Unit from the University of Sussex in Brighton.
His work mainly focuses on the interactions between technical change, energy transition and economic prosperity over the long term.
